This is the second book that I have read by this author and I can say I might have actually enjoyed this one just a TAD more than I did Leather and Lace. That being said though, HOLY CRAP!!!
The INSTANT chemistry between Layla and Cole was awesome. You could tell they both wished they could go back and change what happened in the past, but that’s just not possible.
This is only the second book of Jessie Evans’ that I have read, and I can say it will not be the last! Both books that I have read are in the Lonesome Point series, but they have both been stand alones! Having to read about how much Layla had to go through in the past, how much destruction she went through and how much pain she went through, really made me depressed.
I couldn’t wait to get to the next page, to see when Wayne would show up again (He did this pretty often) and I kept waiting for something really bad to happen. Thankfully, this didn’t happen until towards the end, but Layla and Cole showed Wayne who was boss!
The suspense in this book was awesome. There was a part towards the end that really made me nervous! I hoped with all my heart that Layla wouldn’t make the mistake I feared she was about to, a mistake that would haunt her for the rest of her life. Thankfully, she couldn’t go through with it, and I’m glad, because it would have been hurting the one she loved the most!
I felt awful that Cole’s family had to go through such a tremendous loss. I couldn’t imagine something happening to one of my family members, that I was close to.
All in all, I would highly recommend this book! It was one suspenseful moment after another, intertwined with some steamy sex scenes and it all ends in happiness, with some rainbow sprinkles on top!
