Poor-but-proud Kendra Forrester doesn’t need an arrogant millionaire to tell her how to raise her sister’s baby. But when handsome Zeke King arrives at her Colorado cabin demanding custody of his brother’s child, strategy dictates that she let him stick around.

Battling mountain weather and the baby’s illness brings these two opposites together, but their own insecurities, their dead siblings’ secrets, and a jealous former boyfriend threaten their tentative bond.

Only the Lord and the Sacred Bond Brotherhood can help Kendra and Zeke form a family for their baby.

My Thoughts

This is the first book that I have read from this author, and I’m so glad I did. It was so much fun to argue in my head, while I was reading what was going on, with the characters! I was pulling for Kendra and Zeke the whole time, so it’s pointless to say that the ending made me happy! You could tell from the moment they met the attraction that they had for each other.

Reading a Christian Romance was so much different than any that I’ve read before, and I was curious how the author would do that. I think that’s the MAIN reason that I downloaded this book, especially since it was a free book. I was not let down. Zeke’s faith was incorporated in this book very nicely.

Zeke didn’t have very good thoughts about Kendra, because of things that he had been told about her sister, and he just assumed that they were the same. He didn’t know the whole story of his brothers marriage though. (Zeke’s brother married Kendra’s sister..)

Zeke also had NO clue how to care for a baby, and I enjoyed reading about how Kendra taught him how to care for baby Sara, and I truly hoped that once he saw exactly how much Kendra cared about Sara that he would change his mind about how much he wanted to take guardianship of Sara from Kendra.

As I said before I was not disappointed in this book. I will be looking for other books by this author most definitely. And I will also be looking for more Christian Romance books also!

About the Author

Lee Tobin McClain read Gone With The Wind in the third grade and has been an incurable romantic ever since. When she not writing emotional Christian romances, she’s probably driving around a carload of snarky teen girls, playing with her rescue dog and cat, or teaching aspiring writers in Seton Hill University’s MFA program. She is probably not cleaning her house. You can find Lee online at and on Twitter @LeeTobinMcClain. Like her on Facebook or email her at She loves to hear from readers!
